After 235 incredible performances in 25 venues around the UK, I would
personally like to thank everyone, whether they be fans, friends or the
public in general who have given Anita the tremendous support throughout
this tour which Anita has so much appreciated. The Press and Public
alike have also been very generous with their reviews of Anita, the cast
and the show itself. ( You will find these reviews over on the Press
page (on the left-hand side just scroll down and click) which will take
you to the reviews)
A Big THANK YOU must also go to Chris Moreno, Chris Colby, David
Beer, David Kort, Mark Crossland, Colin Wood, Alan Miller Bunford,
Anthony Wright, Ensemble, and of course Louise English, Darren Day,
David McAlister, Hamilton Sargent, Amanda Salmon, Sophie Wilkins, Crew,
Musicians. In fact Everybody who has helped make this Hello, Dolly! 2008
UK Touring Production the HUGE Success that it was.
And finally, Anita has now put her OWN Stamp on the lead
character, Mrs. Dolly Gallagher Levi along with other great actresses,
who, along the years .... Ethel Merman, Carol Channing, Dora Bryan,
Ginger Rogers, Betty Grable, Pearl Bailey, Phyllis Diller and many more
including, yes .. Danny La Rue and of course, who could forget Barbra
Streisand in the 1969 film version.

I have been
running The Anita Dobson Fan Club now for a number of years (2008 is
the Fan Club's 21st Birthday!) Currently, although the fan club is
smaller than a lot of fan clubs, we are a very happy club where,
when Anita is working in Theatre - especially this year when Anita
was on the long UK tour of Hello, Dolly! Many fans were able to meet
up with each other along the way, we have had many new fans who,
before, never even realised Anita had a fan club have now joined, so

The video footage of
Hello, Dolly! has now been transferred over on to the Press Page
where it will remain permanently. And there has now been added an
Audio Radio Smooth Interview where Anita was interviewed by Paul
Wappat on 20 August in Sunderland. This interview comes in 3 parts.

Just in case any of you
guys out there may be interested to know, there is a summer
blockbuster movie out now called Wall-E .... The Pixar movie robot
has a passion for old musicals - including Hello, Dolly! Should be a
fun-filled movie.

There is nothing new for the time being as Anita is taking a well
earned rest for a while and as things stand at the moment, Anita,
who for the first time in many years is NOT
appearing in Pantomime for the 2008/2009 Christmas season. But if
things should change at the last minute, then of course I will Post
anything accordingly.
