SYNOPSIS
Anita Dobson is an award winning British actress of TV, Film and Theatre.
Her career spans more than 40 years.
Most famous for playing the role of Angie Watts in the BBC1 soap opera, EastEnders, (1986-1988).
Anita has since appeared in countless West End theatre shows, such as Calendar Girls, Hello Dolly, Vagina Monologes, Hamlet, etc..
In 2003, Anita was nominated for a Laurence Olivier Award for Best Actress for her performance in Frozen at the Royal National Theatre.
TV credits also include guest appearances in The Bill, Casualty, & Holby City.
In August 1986 she reached No. 4 in the UK Singles Chart with "Anyone Can Fall in Love," a song based on the theme music of EastEnders (written by Simon May).
She has also released several other singles and albums with minor chart success.
Her most recent television appearance (June 2010) was on ITV 1, to present an award for the Best British Soap Opera.
Anita is married to Queen's legendary guitarist Brian May.
